MACHEDA: SAMPDORIA CAREER IN FOCUS

Italian star Federico Macheda was in the Lazio Academy before being snapped up by Manchester United as a prospect. Macheda made his mark on the first team when given the chance to shine. He was able to use the rare opportunity to make a name for himself after he scored the winning goal during the 3-2 comeback win over Villa in April 2009. He scored the winning goal in stoppage time to boost the Red Devils in their quest to win the 2008/09 Premier League title.

Federico Macheda made his mark on the Villa game at the age of 17 and big things were expected from him. For the next months, he was unable to nail down a place in the first team and he had to go out on loan. Macheda insisted on a loan move to Sampdoria in his native Italy during the winter transfer market in 2011. Years later, he talked about his regret over the loan move to Sampdoria. FEDERICO MACHEDA: SERIE A CAREER UNVEILED

Italian striker Federico Macheda started his career in the Lazio youth setup but the player didn’t make any appearance for the senior team before he left for Manchester United. The 29-year-old started his football career professionally at Manchester United and he made an early impact at the club. Big things were expected but Federico Macheda was not able to fulfill those expectations. Federico Macheda was sent on loan to Sampdoria in the Italian Serie A after the player requested for the move. He left Manchester United to sign for Sampdoria on loan in January 2011 and the Italian attacker has admitted that it was a wrong move. Federico Macheda rued his decision to return to Italy in one of his recent interviews. He didn’t score any goal in 14 league games for Sampdoria during his time at the club.Sampdoria saw Federico Macheda as the man to replace Antonio Cassano at Sampdoria after the Italian international left the club to sign for AC Milan. Macheda was unable to replace Antonio Cassano adequately. His debut for Sampdoriacame in the 2-1 win over AS Roma. He came on as a substitute during that game with the club based in the Italian capital of Rome.

Andre Silva insists he remains an AC Milan player ahead of the summer

Portuguese striker Andre Silva has said that he remains an AC Milan player ahead of this summer’s transfer window. The marksman joined Sevilla on a season-long loan last summer with the option to buy, but his mixed relationship with the Spanish club has meant that he could be heading back to the Rossoneri.

Silva has recently been receiving treatment for a left knee injury but his decision to make himself available for the Nations League finals with Portugal seems to have angered the Sevilla board. Speaking to A Bola, the Portuguese indicated that he could not do much to help Sevilla’s cause in the past few months due to his knee problem.
