Andreas Pereira: I am very lucky to have Michael Carrick as a coach

Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has revealed the delight of working under new coach Michael Carrick. The former England international retired from the game following the Premier League closer against Watford last term and he has since joined Jose Mourinho’s backroom staff, where he has been offering pieces of advice.

Speaking to reporters, Pereira spoke positively about the influence of Carrick and said that the Englishman has helped him define the strengths and weaknesses to his game, he quipped: “He gives me advice all the time, he’s very good for me and always tells me what to do and helps me in training, if I do something wrong he tells me and even if I do something good he will tell me as well. He played in that exact same position, so it’s very easy to learn off him and if he tells you something it’s so easy to pick it up because you understand it straight away. So I’m very lucky he’s there for me.”

Why Matic’s First Goal Is So Spectacular

Nemanja Matic emerged the hero as Manchester United shocked Crystal Palace in an amazing comeback story at Selhurst Park. The Serbia international scored in the stoppage time to send United above Liverpool ahead of their forthcoming clash this weekend.

The former Chelsea man was slow in getting his first goal but he continued with his excellent defensive work in the middle for the Red Devils. His attempt came off the woodwork and entered the net after contact with Benfica goalkeeper Mile Svilar in the Champion League group stage game in October.
