A lot of fans expected Macheda to kick on and become the United’s striker for many years to come but the expectation was never fulfilled as the 25-year old, now at Italian club Novara Calcio, has admitted that his decision to irk Ferguson and snub a loan move within the Premier League eventually ‘ruined’ his bright football career.

“I had a few runs of games but I wanted to be featuring every week,” he told ESPN. “Ferguson wanted me to go on loan, I could foresee that was sensible. Many Premier League clubs bid for me including Everton and Sunderland but I preferred to play in Italy, in Serie A, any first team precisely.” Continue reading “Macheda AGREES HE IRKED FERGUSON”

MOURINHO’S TEAM DEFEAT CITY 2-0

RomeluLukaku is starting his Red Devils journey on a good note after he scored for Manchester United in the 2-0 rout of Manchester City.

Both sides met at the NRG Stadium in Houston for the Manchester preseason derby. The stadium seems to be a good fortune spot for United as the club had defeated the MLS All Stars team in 2010, with then highly rated youngster Federico Macheda picking up the Man of the Match award.

The International Champions Cup fixture revealed that Pep Guardiola still has work to do with his goalkeepers. After the Spaniard decided to send former keeper Joe Hart packing for his numerous errors, Claudio Bravo was the replacement. Barely after a year, EdersonMoraes is the new first choice shot keeper. The Brazil U-23 star made an error that City fans would not want to see again after spending a record £35 million. Continue reading “MOURINHO’S TEAM DEFEAT CITY 2-0”

Macheda Speaks about That Unforgettable Goal against Aston Villa

Federico Macheda has opened up on the incredible goal that changed his career overnight.

The former Manchester United striker made an unforgettable debut for the club in 2009 when he came off the bench to score the winner against Aston Villa. After having been a relative unknown up until that point,Macheda says that he initially enjoyed the overwhelming popularity provided by that debut. Yet, he was unable to sustain the success for long. After featuring on a few occasions towards the end of that season, he was loaned out to various clubs like Sampdoria, QPR, and Stuttgart. Yet, none of the loan spells worked out for the striker and he was unable to secure a permanent place at any of these clubs.

The 25-year-old once used to play for Manchester United as a youngster, but he has struggled a lot in the last few years. MACHEDA TO JOIN SERIE B SIDE

Former Manchester United player Federico Macheda is set to join Serie A side Novara in his bid to continue his professional footballing career, according to reports.

La Stampa reports that the Italian has reached advanced stages of negotation with the club regarding the purported move.

Macheda started with the youth team in Lazio, Italy before his move to Old Trafford. Despite an early impact in scoring a crucial goal for the Red Devils at 17 years old, the player struggled to establish himself at the club. After six years, riddled with numerous loan spells, he moved to Cardiff.

Cardiff could not help the player as his unfilled potential continued. After failing to score in eight games, the Welsh side got tired. He only managed six goals in two seasons for the Bluebirds. The Championship side dropped him earlier this year, leaving him a free agent.

There were many reports that linked Serie A club Pescara with a move for the 25-year old but the deal never happened. Macheda tried out with Premier League side Watford during the summer, even scoring a penalty kick in a run-out for the Under-23 side. However, the club did not buy into his potential for their team.

Sport Italia reported that Serie B outfit Bari were open to a new deal for Macheda but the deal is yet to happen.
Novara seems ready to sign the player as Macheda remains focused on reestablsihing himself at home in Italy. If the deal does not happen, there are rumours that the player might bow to pressure to move away from European football to America, Russia, China or which other option is most favourable.
