Federico Macheda was always berememberedat Manchester United hero despitescoring just five goals for the Red Devils. He would always be remembered fondly by the goals at Old Trafford.
The striker rescued Man United with an amazing late winner when they defeated Aston Villa 3-2 back in 2009 which set the Red Devils on the proper track to win the title ahead of dangerous rivals Liverpool.
A lot of fans expected Macheda to kick on and become the United’s striker for many years to come but the expectation was never fulfilled as the 25-year old, now at Italian club Novara Calcio, has admitted that his decision to irk Ferguson and snub a loan move within the Premier League eventually ‘ruined’ his bright football career.
“I had a few runs of games but I wanted to be featuring every week,” he told ESPN. “Ferguson wanted me to go on loan, I could foresee that was sensible. Many Premier League clubs bid for me including Everton and Sunderland but I preferred to play in Italy, in Serie A, any first team precisely.” Continue reading “Macheda AGREES HE IRKED FERGUSON”
RomeluLukaku is starting his Red Devils journey on a good note after he scored for Manchester United in the 2-0 rout of Manchester City.
Both sides met at the NRG Stadium in Houston for the Manchester preseason derby. The stadium seems to be a good fortune spot for United as the club had defeated the MLS All Stars team in 2010, with then highly rated youngster Federico Macheda picking up the Man of the Match award.
The International Champions Cup fixture revealed that Pep Guardiola still has work to do with his goalkeepers. After the Spaniard decided to send former keeper Joe Hart packing for his numerous errors, Claudio Bravo was the replacement. Barely after a year, EdersonMoraes is the new first choice shot keeper. The Brazil U-23 star made an error that City fans would not want to see again after spending a record £35 million. Continue reading “MOURINHO’S TEAM DEFEAT CITY 2-0”

Marcus Rashford won the award last year and has been wonderful since his move to the senior team. Danny Welbeck, Federico Macheda, Giuseppe Rossi, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs are amongst the winners of the coveted prize.
Gomes had his debut in the under-18 squad at just 14 years. He has been impressive to coaches and staff at the academy. He would have been the one leading England Under-17 in the European Championship final if not for injury that ruled him out. Continue reading “NEW KID ON THE BLOCK FOR MAN UNITED”
Federico Macheda has opened up on the incredible goal that changed his career overnight.
The former Manchester United striker made an unforgettable debut for the club in 2009 when he came off the bench to score the winner against Aston Villa. After having been a relative unknown up until that point,Macheda says that he initially enjoyed the overwhelming popularity provided by that debut. Yet, he was unable to sustain the success for long. After featuring on a few occasions towards the end of that season, he was loaned out to various clubs like Sampdoria, QPR, and Stuttgart. Yet, none of the loan spells worked out for the striker and he was unable to secure a permanent place at any of these clubs.
Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson’s faith in the striker was also tested heavily as a result of the failed loan spells. In the end, the striker was left to go of by United in the summer of 2014. After going to Cardiff city on a free transfer, the striker struggled with injury problems which limited his impact at the club. Federico Macheda brought an end to his time in English football after moving to Italian outfit Novara Calcio on a one-year contract.
The 25-year-old once used to play for Manchester United as a youngster, but he has struggled a lot in the last few years. After struggling to get gametime at the likes of Cardiff City, he slipped lower down the chain and was last seen playing for Nottingham Forest. Numerous loans spells were the standout elements in his career early on, as United tried to get the best out of him.
The incredible fall from grace for the striker is surprising considering that he scored on his debut with an injury time winner against Aston Villa in the 2008-09 campaign.Macheda says that he is not worried about what he has failed to achieve in the past. Instead, he wants to focus on the future and wants to hit the ground running straight away. Continue reading “Federico Macheda Signs for Serie B Side Novara”
Former Manchester United player Federico Macheda is set to join Serie A side Novara in his bid to continue his professional footballing career, according to reports.
La Stampa reports that the Italian has reached advanced stages of negotation with the club regarding the purported move.
Macheda started with the youth team in Lazio, Italy before his move to Old Trafford. Despite an early impact in scoring a crucial goal for the Red Devils at 17 years old, the player struggled to establish himself at the club. After six years, riddled with numerous loan spells, he moved to Cardiff.
Cardiff could not help the player as his unfilled potential continued. After failing to score in eight games, the Welsh side got tired. He only managed six goals in two seasons for the Bluebirds. The Championship side dropped him earlier this year, leaving him a free agent.
There were many reports that linked Serie A club Pescara with a move for the 25-year old but the deal never happened. Macheda tried out with Premier League side Watford during the summer, even scoring a penalty kick in a run-out for the Under-23 side. However, the club did not buy into his potential for their team.
Sport Italia reported that Serie B outfit Bari were open to a new deal for Macheda but the deal is yet to happen.
Novara seems ready to sign the player as Macheda remains focused on reestablsihing himself at home in Italy. If the deal does not happen, there are rumours that the player might bow to pressure to move away from European football to America, Russia, China or which other option is most favourable.
Federico Macheda has been a free agent since August 30 when his contract with his latest club Cardiff City was terminated by mutual consent.
It seems like he was not part of the plans of the new manager Paul Trollope as it was the English coach that left out Macheda from his first-team and the 25 year old player was eventually sent his way out of Cardiff City after having spent a little over 2 years with the club.
The question that is being asked right now is which will be the next club that Federico Macheda joins?
This is a player that appeared to have a bright future as the Italian footballer was able to receive enough recognition during his time spent at the youth academy of Manchester United which allowed him to get playing time with the first-team of the Premier League despite only being 18 years old and actually managing to make an impact in the matches that he did get time on the pitch, even though he was only a youngster.
On April 5 of 2009, Macheda was selected for the first team for Manchester United’s match against Aston Villa and the Italian youngster managed to score the winning goal for his team with a late goal that edged out a 3-2 victory for Manchester United.
From there on out, he was given sporadic time on the first team under the guidance of Sir. Alex Ferguson before being eventually loaned out to a number of clubs. Things took a turn for the worst for Macheda when the Scottish manager decided to retire and he was replaced by David Moyes and it seems like Moyes didn’t have the Italian attacker on his plans as he was released by Manchester United and joined Cardiff City.
Now that he is a free agent, there have been numerous clubs that are rumored to be interested in signing the Italian attacker including: Pescara, Napoli, Watford but all of these clubs will have to wait until the winter transfer window opens in order to have anything secured.
