Former Manchester United player Federico Macheda is set to join Serie A side Novara in his bid to continue his professional footballing career, according to reports.

La Stampa reports that the Italian has reached advanced stages of negotation with the club regarding the purported move.

Macheda started with the youth team in Lazio, Italy before his move to Old Trafford. Despite an early impact in scoring a crucial goal for the Red Devils at 17 years old, the player struggled to establish himself at the club. After six years, riddled with numerous loan spells, he moved to Cardiff.

Cardiff could not help the player as his unfilled potential continued. After failing to score in eight games, the Welsh side got tired. He only managed six goals in two seasons for the Bluebirds. The Championship side dropped him earlier this year, leaving him a free agent.

There were many reports that linked Serie A club Pescara with a move for the 25-year old but the deal never happened. Macheda tried out with Premier League side Watford during the summer, even scoring a penalty kick in a run-out for the Under-23 side. However, the club did not buy into his potential for their team.

Sport Italia reported that Serie B outfit Bari were open to a new deal for Macheda but the deal is yet to happen.
Novara seems ready to sign the player as Macheda remains focused on reestablsihing himself at home in Italy. If the deal does not happen, there are rumours that the player might bow to pressure to move away from European football to America, Russia, China or which other option is most favourable.

Various clubs are believed to be interested in signing Federico Macheda

Federico Macheda has been a free agent since August 30 when his contract with his latest club Cardiff City was terminated by mutual consent.

It seems like he was not part of the plans of the new manager Paul Trollope as it was the English coach that left out Macheda from his first-team and the 25 year old player was eventually sent his way out of Cardiff City after having spent a little over 2 years with the club.

The question that is being asked right now is which will be the next club that Federico Macheda joins?

This is a player that appeared to have a bright future as the Italian footballer was able to receive enough recognition during his time spent at the youth academy of Manchester United which allowed him to get playing time with the first-team of the Premier League despite only being 18 years old and actually managing to make an impact in the matches that he did get time on the pitch, even though he was only a youngster.

On April 5 of 2009, Macheda was selected for the first team for Manchester United’s match against Aston Villa and the Italian youngster managed to score the winning goal for his team with a late goal that edged out a 3-2 victory for Manchester United.

From there on out, he was given sporadic time on the first team under the guidance of Sir. Alex Ferguson before being eventually loaned out to a number of clubs. Things took a turn for the worst for Macheda when the Scottish manager decided to retire and he was replaced by David Moyes and it seems like Moyes didn’t have the Italian attacker on his plans as he was released by Manchester United and joined Cardiff City.

Now that he is a free agent, there have been numerous clubs that are rumored to be interested in signing the Italian attacker including: Pescara, Napoli, Watford but all of these clubs will have to wait until the winter transfer window opens in order to have anything secured.

Macheda has left Cardiff City

Cardiff City has revealed that FredericoMacheda has left the team after mutual agreement.

The player still had 12 months left on his contract and both parties feel that it will be better that the contract is ended.

Macheda who previously played for Manchester United was touted to become a world class player. Indeed he made a great start to his Manchester United career by scoring a goal against Aston Villa. Unfortunately for him, things did not really work out for him at Old Trafford, and he ended up being sold to Cardiff.

Prior to his move to Cardiff City, he had several loan stints at different clubs but failed to establish himself at any club. He went on loan at Nottingham Forest earlier this year and again failed to secure a place in the first team.

He returned to Cardiff City only to find his contract ended with 12 months left on his contract. He has managed to make 27 appearances for the club and scored 6 goals during the process. A statement released by the club has thanked the player for all his contribution to the team and has wished him all the best for the remaining part of his career.

Macheda has stated that he does not regret the decision and that he is currently considering the other offers that have come his way. He said that he could develop into a good player if he is given the proper structure to develop. He stated that it is unfortunate that he could not adapt to the playing style at Cardiff City as they seem to be a good club.

He has thanked the fans and the club in general for the support they have given him and hope that he will be able to repay them in one way or another in the future.

Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker has joined those clamouring for young talent Timothy Fosu Mensah in the right back position.

Anthonio Valencia played in the role after a shuffle in the squad and was decent at it during pre season and in the season opener against Bournemouth. It seems that Valencia could solidify his position in the starting XI in that position.

“The position United have to worry about is right-back. They have Fosu-Mensah who is absolutely perfect. He is a very good defender and in the final third he’s as cool as a cucumber.

“He never panicked last season and has arrogance on the ball. He would be a better bet than Valencia who is fine up to a point but doesn’t have a trick,” Parker told 888Sport.

Fosu-Mensah got his first match for United under former coach Louis van Gaal last season. He was impressive in the game against Arsenal, stopping attacks and showing calm despite being a young player. His performance even earned him a call-up for Holland. Parker attacked Mourinho’s decision to leave out the player.

“The thing that goes against Fosu-Mensah is that he’s young and Mourinho doesn’t like young players. It’s the same old story and if that’s what is keeping him out of the side, that’s a concern.”

United have given many players chances in the past with striker Marcus Rashford one good example. Sir Alex Ferguson is known to have given young players opportunities with Federico Macheda and the Da Silva brothers being recent examples before he retired. Matteo Darmian who joined from Torino is still at the club despite his future remaining unclear. If he moves out then the chances of Fosu-Mensah displacing Valencia anytime this season would be high. Then he can get a chance to prove himself to Mourinho.

Championship side Cardiff City are set to shed more players this summer as they prepare to sign more players during the transfer window, after the Football League lifted their transfer embargo.

Cardiff City coach, Paul Trollope is ready to lead the charge for new players that will help reinvigorate the club ahead of the coming season. The plan would mean the shedding of current players.

Trollope is a major player of the Chris Coleman’s backroom team at the Euro 2016 ongoing in France is believed to have prepared a shortlist of three quality newcomers for the 2016/2017 campaign. The Bluebirds would be targeting a striker that can consistently find the back of the net, making the current crop of strikers including Federico Macheda who just returned to the club from Nottingham forest to be likely axed during the summer.

The club believes the team can challenge for promotion next season with the current players if the necessary additions can be made. Trollope believes the squad’s defence is on point and the goal keeper in David Marshall is decent enough for them. The club owner says he is not comfortable with players on the club’s pay that are not worthy of look in when the manager wants to select, so he wants Trollope to cut back on the players’ list.

The club already cut some players with Ben Turner being the highest profile casualty. Other included 28-year old centre half Joe Lewis. Trollope is still on the look-out for top strikers and he has let striker Kenwyne Jones and Filip Kiss go. Slovenian striker Etien Velikonja who arrived at the club in July 2012 from NK Maribor in his home country was also cut off. Other development players were cut loose too. Cardiff city would be expected to make a real push at qualification after all the changes

Italian club sides Empoli and Cagliari want the services of Federico Macheda in the coming season.

The player had a stint in Italy that was largely disappointing. He played for Sampdoria in 2011 where he had 14 appearances but could only manage to score a goal. He returned to England to play for Cardiff City but Sport Italia says the 24-year old player is still wanted in the Serie A.

Macheda is mostly remembered for the screamer in England when he played for The Red Devils. Andy Gray said “Dare I say it – a star is born!” Federico Macheda scored a dramatic winner on his debut in 2009. Manchester United were seven points clear of second placed Liverpool with a game in hand. This was the situation on March the 14th. After three games, Rafa Benitez’s men overtook United following a stoppage-time victory just the day before.
The Red Devils came into the final game without their star player in Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic. Gary Neville was 34 years old and was forced to play at centre back. They were to play Aston Villa and Martin O’Neil’s team were no pushovers with their towering player in John Carew. The game started well for United with a set piece converted by Portuguese star in Cristiano Ronaldo.

Carew out-jumped Neville to score an equalizer then Gabriel Agbonlahor struck beating Edwin van der Sar to send Villa into the lead. Old Trafford which was fully packed was stunned in silence and Villa were set to be the biggest upset of the season. Seventeen year old Macheda was sent into the game in the 61st minute for his debut, with many wondering what Ferguson had just done. Ronaldo scored again in the 80th minute to equalize but Ryan Giggs found Macheda and he scored the winner, helping the club equal Liverpool’s record of 18 league titles.

The player was praised for his efforts but that was it in the otherwise unspectacular career for the player. Seven years on and he has had six loan spells and is ended back to Italy.

his rather unspectacular career was when he made the switch to Sampdoria.

The once highly rated prospect made a sterling remark when he scored two goals for the Red Devils senior squad in his first two games.

Subsequently, he was unable to hold down a regular shirt due to his undulating performances.

The striker has had several loan spells at several clubs in the English Championships and beyond. The Italian spent time at Sampdoria, QPR, Stuggart, Doncaster Rovers, and Birmingham City before joining Cardiff City on a permanent deal. He has been sent on loan again to Nottingham Forest.

The player told The Sun:

“Sir Alex Ferguson told me it would not be bad for me to go out on loan to be fit for the following season,” the striker started.

“I don’t know why I went to Italy. It was the worst mistake of my career. I should have stayed in England,” he added.

“I wanted to play in Serie A. The team wasn’t so great and I was in and out.

“I was only 19 and we got relegated so it was not the best for me. When I came back, I had to work three times harder to get another chance. It wasn’t easy,” the player mentioned on an endnote.

Recently, he advised current sensation, Marcus Rashford to keep calm as he is being celebrated in the media. He had received attention after his exploits at the beginning as well and advised that he be shielded from the media attention. He told the tale of how Sir Alex Ferguson tried to shield him as well.

“Sir Alex met my parents because he wanted me protected and to take things in the right direction. He wanted to make sure I’d continue working hard and not let any hype have a bad influence on me.

“After I scored those goals, when I went out I had people stopping me and giving me attention. I didn’t expect it. It was actually fun because it’s nice when people like what you’ve done and show their appreciation. I’m sure Marcus will be enjoying the positive attention he’s getting,” Macheda said.

Federico Macheda wants to succeed at Nottingham Forest

Federico Macheda, who has just signed a loan deal with Nottingham Forest, wants to succeed at Nottingham Forest. The striker who is on loan from Cardiff City has joined Forest for the remainder of the season.

When asked how he feel about his new club, the former Manchester United player was keen to show that he felt at home at the club. He stated that Forest is a big club and with a big fan base and that he will be interested in staying there for the long term if ever he was offered the opportunity.

Macheda first came to the Premier League in 2009 and scored a sensational goal for Manchester United against Aston Villa. He was then 17 years old and pundits around the world predicted that the Italian striker will be a world class player.

Unfortunately for him, things did not go well, and he ended up having loan spells at different clubs. He returned to Italy on loan to Sampdoria before coming back to England where he went subsequently to Stuttgart, Doncaster and Birmingham. Ultimately he signed a permanent deal with Cardiff City.

However his Cardiff career has been plagued by injuries, and he did not have as much playing opportunities as he would have wanted. Now at Nottingham Forest, Macheda will be keen to forget his injury issue and focus on what he does best: score goals.

The Italian told journalists that Forest has good midfielders and that they will create enough chances for him to score goals. He believes that he still can fulfill the potential that he showed when he was younger and that Nottingham Forest is the best place to do so. For the time being he want to focus on the remaining game of the season and help Forest finish as high as they can.

Even when fully recovered, Macheda doesn’t play a key role

Federico Macheda got back into fitness and was fully recovered back in November of 2015 but even though he is more than ready to play, the Italian player has failed to land any important role in Cardiff City.

When Macheda did manage to get back in shape, he expressed his happiness in being able to return to the pitch as the former Manchester United player said:
“Personally, I’m feeling good.

I had my operation around 12 weeks ago now and finally I’m through it and feeling great. I’m looking forward to getting even fitter and contributing to the team. I had a run-out with the development team ahead of getting out in front of the fans for a few minutes against Burnley. It’s always a great feeling getting back after injury. I was very pleased with that’’ This was the statement that was released by Macheda a few months ago.

Unfortunately for Macheda even though he is fully recovered and eager to play, he doesn’t play an important role in Cardiff City and considering that he has only managed to score 8 goals in 30 appearances, Russell Slade has lost his faith in the young Italian.
The question that emerges now is which club he will be joining in case of the very likely departure from Cardiff City. The Championship League side club Bristol City is the club that is being rumored on attempting to sign Federico Macheda as they are currently positioned in the relegation zone of the 2nd tier English League and are in need of some attacking reinforcements but it will be a huge gamble as Macheda is a player who has continuously been fighting with injuries.

At the age of 24, Federico Macheda pretty much has his entire career lying ahead of him which is plenty of time left for him to kick-start his career back to life but this will depend on whether or not he manages to end his injury nightmare and on how he is able to perform in the next club that Macheda decides to join.

Once Fernando Torres had decided to move to Atletico Madrid

Once Fernando Torres had decided to move to Atletico Madrid, goals were expected to flow for the Spanish striker.

He is someone who lives on confidence and the advantage provided by the home supporters will be crucial in building confidence. Torres is regarded as a hero at Atletico Madrid. He came through the ranks at the club before going on to captain them. Torres’ popularity grew to immense levels during his spell at Liverpool when he was regarded as one of the best strikers in the world. However, he has struggled for goals since 2011 when he moved to Chelsea.

His form has not improved even after playing for three clubs since then. He has already represented AC Milan, Chelsea, and Atletico in the last four years without any improvement in form. Managers have continued to back him and the case of Diego Simeone is not new. Torres has scored only two goals in a whopping 21 appearances for Atletico this season. His poor goal return maybe a huge factor in Atletico failing to top the table despite Barcelona and Real Madrid dropping their fair share of points. Torres has scored 99 goals for Atletico and he remains very keen on getting his 100th.

Simeone says that the striker should avoid overworking in the attempt to score this crucial goal.“As long as he works like he works, and continues how he trains and plays, it does not matter if he does not score his 100th goal. But the goal will come. Fernando Torres has always scored important goals and I hope when he does score it is one of his important ones. He’s training with the club, he’s involved in the club. The goal will come,” said Simeone. The lack of goals has reduced Torres to a bit part player at the Vicente Calderon.
