Federico Macheda Signs for Serie B Side Novara

Federico Macheda brought an end to his time in English football after moving to Italian outfit Novara Calcio on a one-year contract.


The 25-year-old once used to play for Manchester United as a youngster, but he has struggled a lot in the last few years. After struggling to get gametime at the likes of Cardiff City, he slipped lower down the chain and was last seen playing for Nottingham Forest. Numerous loans spells were the standout elements in his career early on, as United tried to get the best out of him.

The incredible fall from grace for the striker is surprising considering that he scored on his debut with an injury time winner against Aston Villa in the 2008-09 campaign.Macheda says that he is not worried about what he has failed to achieve in the past.
